Hello, and welcome to Mind Trek Counseling! My name is Christina Bentley, and I want to thank you for taking the first step toward caring for your mental health. Reaching out for support takes courage, and I believe everyone deserves a safe place to feel heard, understood, and supported.
I enjoy working with young children, adolescents, adults, parents, couples, and families from all walks of life. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, trauma, parenting concerns, relationship difficulties, behavioral challenges, substance use, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, you do not have to face those challenges alone. Many of my clients come to therapy wanting to better understand themselves, improve communication, strengthen relationships, manage emotions more effectively, heal from difficult experiences, or build a healthier, happier future. Others simply want someone who will truly listen without judgment.
Together, we will identify your strengths, develop practical coping skills, improve emotional wellness, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and compassionate environment where you feel safe enough to be yourself while building the confidence to overcome life's obstacles.
My Background
I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in Ohio with extensive experience providing therapy in outpatient mental health, community behavioral health, substance use treatment, school-based services, and telehealth. I am trained in completing Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessments and have experience providing Intensive Home-Based Treatment (IHBT).
My work has included helping families manage behavioral concerns at home and school, strengthening parenting skills, improving family communication, supporting children with emotional and behavioral challenges, collaborating with school teams regarding behavioral interventions, IEPs and 504 Plans, and working with court-involved families and children involved in child welfare services.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), strengths-based therapy, Family Systems Therapy, mindfulness, psychoeducation, trauma-informed care, and attachment-informed principles. I believe every client deserves an individualized approach that recognizes their strengths while helping them develop the tools needed to create lasting change.
How can I help?
Life can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to face it alone. Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family, I'll meet you with compassion, understanding, and encouragement. Healing begins with one conversation, and I'd be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward hope, healing, and growth.

ADHD, Executive Functioning & Autism Spectrum Disorder
Neurodiversity-affirming therapy for children, teens, and adults in Ohio
Do you or your child struggle with focus, organization, emotional outbursts, or feeling "different" from everyone else? Every brain works differently — and those differences deserve understanding, not judgment.
I provide ADHD and autism therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, helping clients understand how their brain works while recognizing the real strengths that come with neurodiversity. Whether you're a parent seeking support for a newly diagnosed child, a teen struggling with school demands, or an adult who has spent years wondering why everyday tasks feel harder than they should, therapy can help.
Together, we build practical, real-world skills including:
Executive functioning strategies for organization, time management, and follow-through
Emotional regulation tools for meltdowns, frustration, and overwhelm
Social skills and communication support at school, work, and home
Self-advocacy and confidence — learning to work with your brain, not against it
My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based, and fully individualized. Available via telehealth throughout Ohio, so families in rural and underserved communities can access specialized neurodivergent care without long drives or waitlists.
Children, Parenting & Families
Child therapist and family counseling — in-home experience, school collaboration, and telehealth that actually works for kids
Is your child struggling with big emotions, behavioral problems at school, or family conflict at home? You don't have to figure it out alone — and your child doesn't have to be "the problem kid."
I work collaboratively with children, teens, parents, and caregivers to improve communication, reduce behavioral concerns, strengthen family relationships, and build routines that actually stick. My background sets me apart from many child therapists:
School-based therapy experience and direct collaboration with school teams on behavioral supports, IEPs, and 504 Plans
Intensive Home-Based Treatment (IHBT) — I've helped families manage serious behavioral challenges right where they happen
CANS-certified assessment of children's needs and strengths
Experience with court-involved families and child welfare cases
Wondering if online therapy really works for kids? After more than five years of providing telehealth to children, I can tell you: yes. I use interactive games, movement breaks, visual activities, and creative digital tools that keep kids engaged — often more than they'd be sitting on an office couch. Parents stay involved every step of the way, with practical strategies to reinforce skills between sessions.
Anxiety, Depression, Trauma & Co-Occurring Disorders
Living with anxiety, depression, or trauma can feel exhausting and isolating. If you're also struggling with substance use, you may have been told to "fix one thing at a time" — but real healing means addressing your whole story.
I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can process painful experiences, challenge the thought patterns keeping you stuck, and build coping skills that actually work in daily life. My approach draws on proven, evidence-based methods:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depression
Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) for children, teens, and adults who have experienced trauma
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills for emotional regulation and distress tolerance
Motivational Interviewing for substance use and ambivalence about change
Mindfulness and trauma-informed care woven throughout
I have extensive experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders — because lasting recovery means healing both. Whether you're seeking trauma therapy, help for panic attacks, support through depression, or dual-diagnosis treatment, my goal is the same: helping you build hope, confidence, healthier relationships, and a meaningful life you no longer feel the need to escape from.
