Hi, welcome to Mind Trek Counseling! My name is Amy Weller, and I'm so glad you've chosen to prioritize your well-being. I truly care about the welfare of my clients and am here to support you as you learn to manage your mental health. I work with a diverse group of individuals, including youth, adults, couples, and families, as they navigate the changes in their lives. I approach each client with an open, non-judgmental mindset, offering compassion and empathy as you face your challenges. My Background

I have both a Master’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, along with a certification in Trauma. Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision. I used to work as an interventionist focusing on supporting youth in their academic development for 12 years. Then I was able to work with a diverse range of individuals in managing their mental health issues.

How can I help?

I provide a structured approach to my therapy sessions, incorporating psychoeducation alongside the practical application of skills and strategies. My therapeutic methods include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, combined with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Reality Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. Additionally, I work with couples using the Gottman Method. My focus is client-centered and solution-focused, aiming to empower clients to better understand themselves. I work with individuals facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, and LGBTQ+ issues, including gender dysphoria. I also assist clients in exploring their neurodivergence.

As a certified and doctoral-training trauma specialist, I provide a structured, knowledgeable, and steadying presence for this deeply personal work.

    We will move at your pace, using trauma-informed methods to first strengthen your coping skills before carefully processing difficult memories. The goal is to help you reclaim a sense of safety in your own body, reduce the power of past events, and reconnect with the person you are beyond your trauma.

    Great relationships are built, not born. I provide couples with the blueprint and tools to construct a healthier, more connected partnership. Using the proven Gottman Method, we identify the negative cycles of conflict and miscommunication and replace them with productive dialogue and deeper understanding.
